The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court on Saturday sentenced to life imprisonment a Kochi-based couple on charges of murdering their two-day-old infant.
The case pertains to the killing of a girl child by Jossey and his wife Mary, residing in Maradu near here, in January 2008. As per the case, the couple killed the infant by strangulating her and then abandoned her body in an isolated place near Thykoodam.
During the probe, the DNA samples collected from the couple matched with DNA samples of the deceased infant. A person close to the couple deposed before the police that Mary had earlier attempted to kill one of her children. - Staff Repoter
