Cochin Port Trust gets new Deputy Chairman

A.V. Ramana, chief mechanical and electrical engineer, Kolkata Port Trust, and instrumental in facilitating integrated container operations through the Own, Operate and Maintain model, has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Cochin Port Trust.

He is a mechanical engineer trained at BITS Pilani. Formerly, he worked as chief administrative officer, Indian Ports Association, and Deputy Director, Indian Maritime University. He has 26 years of experience in the ports sector. He has also associated with the Sethusamudram Public Hearing Committee. He was also a member of the Chennai-based technical committee on infrastructure issues related to the Indian Maritime University, said a press release here.
