Cocaine case: 2 more held

March 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - Kochi:

The investigation into the cocaine seizure case in Kochi achieved a major breakthrough with the special investigation team on Sunday arresting two more persons in Chennai.

The accused were identified as Jasbir Singh, a native of Punjab who was settled in Chennai, and Prithviraj, a native of Chennai, who had allegedly helped the first two accused Reshma Rengaswamy and Blessy Silvester to engage in cocaine trade. The duo was taken into custody from the Taylors Road in Chennai on Sunday morning following a tip-off. “Reshma and Blessy had been maintaining close links with them and it was with their help that they had obtained cocaine from Nigerian native Okowe alias Franco from Goa,” officials said.

The accused persons will be brought to Kochi on Monday upon obtaining a transit warrant, officials said.
