Chandy opens Kochi school centenary building

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that the centenary building constructed on the Government Boys’ School campus in would remain a model while carrying out the modernisation of government schools across the State.

In his address after inaugurating the school centenary building here on Saturday, Mr. Chandy said the government’s intention was to upgrade the facilities in government schools. Old students’ associations, social organisations and individuals have come forward to extend support for such initiatives, he said.

The Chief Minister said steps would be taken immediately to implement the expansion of the school ground project by utilising the space available at the Government Ayurveda hospital.

Tripunithura municipality had taken the initiative in constructing the centenary building of the Government Boys’ School at a cost of Rs. 3.36 crore.
