The body of an unidentified man was found floating in the Commercial Canal, opposite to the Municipal Office, here on Tuesday. The Alappuzha South Police, who retrieved the body from the canal and sent it for post-mortem, said initial examinations indicated the body to be of a man aged about 35 years with a height of 173 cm. The body, clad in a green shirt with black stripes and black trousers, could be about four days old, police said.
The police are investigating missing person cases reported in other police stations in their attempt to identify the person.
