KOCHI: The Muvattupuzha police on Wednesday arrested two Assam natives accused of supplying ganja in Ernakulam district and seized 3 kg of the contraband from them.

The arrested are Nazaruddin and Rajothali. A special squad headed by Muvattupuzha DySP K. Bijumon nabbed the accused from a location near Pezhakkappalli.

The police said the accused were keeping ganja in the secret chambers of a specially made iron trunk, wrapped with clothes and tobacco to prevent the fragrance of the ganja from leaking out. The duo was targeting students for selling drug in small packets. A special squad under Muvattupuza Sub-Inspector Manuraj has been formed to prevent the widespread use of ganja and other drugs in Muvattupuzha and neighbouring areas.
