Amit Shah visits victim’s mother

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Thursday visited the mother of the Dalit woman, who was brutally raped and killed last week, at the Government Taluk Hospital in Perumbavoor. He was accompanied by former BJP State president V. Muraleedharan and Suresh Gopi, MP. Union Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot also visited her on Thursday. He was accompanied by several BJP leaders. Later, the Minister refused to divulge details of the meeting saying he had been deputed by the Rajyasabha to file a report on the incident. P.L. Punia, Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Lalitha Kumaramangalam, Chairperson of National Commission for Women (NCW), Tourism Minister A.P. Anil Kumar, M.B. Rajesh MP and CPI leader Pannian Raveendran also visited her on the day.

Ban on visitors

Meanwhile, the hospital authorities have imposed a ban on visitors coming to meet her. “The woman, who seems to be suffering from anxiety disorder, gets tensed on seeing outsiders,” said Suma, the hospital Superintendent.
