AI flight makes emergency landing in Kochi

The flight, AI 047, with 120 passengers aboard took off at 9 p.m. when the pilot realised that one of the engines had developed a snag.

An Air India (AI) flight bound for New Delhi from Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery made an emergency landing about 20 minutes after take-off on Thursday night.

The flight, AI 047, with 120 passengers aboard took off at 9 p.m. when the pilot realised that one of the engines had developed a snag.

The pilot immediately informed the Air Traffic Control, which promptly alerted the airport. Fire units from Aluva, Nedumbassery, and Angamaly were hastily summoned and the aircraft made a safe landing.
