A 23-year-old man was arrested by the Kharkhana police on Sunday on the charge of raping his minor girl friend on Saturday night.
The accused Shaik Ahmed, a businessman from Kharkhana area, took the victim, 16, to Necklace road on Saturday evening and did not return. Even as the family members were searching for the girl, the victim came home on Sunday morning and narrated the assault. Following a complaint, the police registered a case against Ahmed.
“Ahmed was a friend of the victim and was moving along with her for last two months. On Saturday, he took the girl to Necklace road and raped her,” Inspector Kharkhana, Y Nageshwar Rao said.
Gang rape
The Shamshabad police on Sunday night filed a case against a Village Revenue Officer and three others on the charge of gang-raping a 21-year-old woman at Shamshabad in March this year. Cops said that the woman alleged that the VRO had dragged her into his house on March 5 while she was going to a shop, and had sexually assaulted her with three other persons.
After a complaint on Sunday night by the victim, the police registered a case under Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Atrocities Against SCs/STs Act, Shamshabad inspector V. Bhaskar said.
