Woman TTE manhandled on MMTS

A woman Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) was allegedly manhandled by a group of women, who were travelling ticketless in an MMTS train at Secunderabad on Wednesday.

The TTE, A. Kausalya of Secunderabad division was checking tickets of travellers between Secunderabad and Begumpet when she caught three women Kumari (45), Padma (20) and Vegah (30), all hailing from Vijaywada for ticketless travel. The ticket examiner asked them to pay a fine to which they expressed their inability. “The TTE scribbled a challan and took away their mobile phone. The women picked up a quarrel with the TTE over the cellphone issue and got physical with her after an argument,” Hyderabad Railway police Inspector G. Lingeshwar Rao said. The women came to the city to attend a function at their relative’s house and boarded the MMTS at Secunderabad. Two of the women - Kumari and Padma were taken into custody .
