Annapoorna (45), a beggar living on a pavement, was found murdered on the premises of a petrol bunk under construction near Grand Circle Hotel at Mahabubnagar crossroads in Chandrayangutta on Thursday. “The previous night, she slept at the petrol bunk under construction when some one smashed her head with a boulder,” the police said.
Labourer immolates self
A labourer Laxmi (20) committed suicide by immolating herself at Mudfort slum under the Karkhana police station limits, on Thursday. Laxmi, hailing from Warangal and her husband came to city for living a few days ago.
Her husband was away at work when she doused herself in kerosene and lighted a matchstick, the police said. Neighbours rushed inside her hut on seeing smoke emanating from it only to see her charred body inside.
Electrocuted
Mohd. Anwar (42) was electrocuted when the tipper vehicle from which he was unloading stones, came in contact with an overhead live wire at Moulana Azad Nagar in Madannapet on Thursday. He had brought stones to a construction site and was unloading them when the incident occurred, the police said.
History-sheeter gives police the slip
Chinna Srisailam Yadav, a history-sheeter, fled from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (MIM) office at Yousufguda when the Jubilee Hills police team went there to question him in a case. Yadav did not turn up after being summoned for questioning after some anonymous callers complained to the police that he was threatening them, Banjara Hills ACP E. Shankar Reddy said.
When the police went to the MIM office, he bolted himself in a room. By the time they broke open the doors, he had fled from the rear door. Yadav had joined different political parties earlier and was currently with the MIM party.
