A 25-year-old woman Chandrakala was murdered allegedly by her husband Bastappa in their single-room rented portion at Vinayaknagar of Langerhouz, the police said on Saturday.
The couple hailing from Janagaon of Peddemul mandal in Ranga Reddy district came to city for living.
They got married eight years ago but had no children. Both were daily-wage earners but Bastappa stopped going to work for past two years having suffered an injury on his leg.
He got addicted to liquor and reportedly suspected fidelity of his wife. On Friday night, he strangled her to death and fled. Bastappa’s sister living in another portion of the house found Chandrakala murdered the next morning and called in the police.
