The Forest Department is planning to develop two well known waterfalls in Adilabad district as tourist spots as is evident from the visit of Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests P.K. Jha to the places on Saturday.
The Department is planning to spend about ₹ 10 crore from its funds and those of the Forest Development Corporation for the purpose.
The Minister and the Head of Forest Force visited Kuntala waterfalls in Neredigonda mandal first and evaluated the scope for its development as a tourist place. They discussed about the means to make the climb down and up the foot of the falls easier for the visitors.
The discussions also centred around erecting a suspension bridge across the two ends of the falls. The use of a cable stayed push-pull car for the benefit of the visitors was also discussed.
At Gayatri waterfall, the need for laying a road came to the fore. Mr. Ramanna and Mr. Jha also visited Pochera waterfall.
