Telangana State Waqf Board Chairman Mohammed Saleem on Wednesday got into a minor scuffle after a person claiming to be a TRS worker accused him of delaying the constitution of a managing committee of a waqf institution in Mahabubnagar.

Syed Maqbool barged into Mr. Saleem’s office in Haj House when a meeting with the H.E.H. Nizam Auqaaf Committee was underway. He demanded proceeding pertaining to the Waqf Complex be handed over to him. Mr. Saleem informed that Shahnawaz Qasim, who holds additional charge of CEO, was not available to hand over proceedings. An argument ensued till Mr. Saleem left his chambers.

Mr. Maqbool followed him and is said to have used objectionable language after which Mr. Saleem exited his car and charged at him. It was after security guards intervened that the scuffle was broken up. Mr. Maqbool was picked up by Abids police.
