The State government has asked the district Collectors to implement proper water management so that standing crops under all projects were not affected during the crucial stage of harvesting.

Special Chief Secretary (Irrigation) S.K. Joshi reviewed the availability of water under various major and medium irrigation projects during a video conference from the Secretariat on Friday.

He told the Collectors to regulate water supply for irrigation by coordinating with the officials of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Revenue.

Gap ayacut

Mr. Joshi asked the Collectors to send proposals to give water to the gap ayacut as the Centre was providing funds under the “incentivisation of bridging the gap ayacut” scheme.

Commissioner of Command Area Development Authority (CADA) G. Malsur gave a PowerPoint presentation on the funding of the same.

He further asked the Collectors to send proposals for availing funds under the command area development and water management scheme by March 20, as the Centre would be implementing the scheme from April 1.

On Mission Kakatiya, the Special Chief Secretary told officials to complete the work taken up under the second phase by the end of June.
