Two Cameroon nationals arrested

Two Cameroon nationals who allegedly duped a man by promising to arrange a pair of ‘Macaws’ from Africa were arrested by the Cyber Crime Police of Cyberabad on Monday.

Two laptops, nine SIM cards, seven mobile phones and Rs. 40,000 cash have been recovered from them.

Alex Rodrigue Eboxo (27) and Ndim Abake Mathieu (32) contacted a bird lover from Serilingampally after he expressed interest in buying the blue and gold Macaws.

“The accused emailed the victim claiming to arrange the birds.

Later, they called him up over phone and asked him to deposit Rs. 50,000 in a bank account,” Cyber Crime Inspector, Md Riyazuddin said.

The Cameroon nationals then demanded another Rs. 1 lakh on pretext of flight charges.

However, the victim grew suspicious and approached the police.

Criminal case

The city police on Monday invoked Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act of Goondas against a history sheeter, Mohd Riyazuddin alias Riyaz (22) an auto driver from Yakutpura. Riyaz was involved in 16 criminal cases registered in various police stations of Hyderabad and Cyberabad.

Air India employee robbed

An employee of Air India was robbed by an auto driver at Mehdipatnam on Sunday night. The woman Chemantani (55) of Gudimalkapur took the auto at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital to travel to her house.

However, the auto driver took her to a secluded place near PVNR pillar no 21 and robbed her gold ornaments. The Humayunnagar police are investigating.
