In a bid to strengthen delivery systems of official machinery, Telangana Government is all set to train about 9,000 cutting edge-level functionaries of all departments.

The target group will be district, division, mandal-level officers in the newly formed districts who are involved in service delivery and did not have any opportunity of training.

About 300 field-level functionaries from each district will be drawn for training programme through e-learning mode. “Priority will be given to the training of front line staff who deal with people - revenue divisional officers, mandal revenue officers, mandal education officers, mandal agricultural officers, headmasters and principals of high schools, junior, degree and polytechnic colleges,” official sources said.

It is mandatory to provide training to all government servants at the time of their entry into service and also at appropriate intervals to equip them with the required competencies and skills. The National Training Policy, 2012 of Department of Personnel and Training also insists that priority be given to such staff.

Planning Department and MCR Human Resources Development Institute sought approval of the DoPT to train 9,000 functionaries through Comprehensive Online Modified Modules for Induction Training (COMMIT) based on e-learning model.

District collectors have been requested to provide suitable premises with about 50 computers and Wifi facility for the training to last three to four days from August 16 to 24.
