The Telangana government has extended the term of office of Chairman and Managing Director of Southern Power Distribution Company G. Raghuma Reddy and also that of several other directors of Transmission Corporation, Generation Corporation and Northern and Southern Power Distribution Companies by one year.
The decision was taken by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao here on Saturday in a meeting with CMD of TS-Transco/Genco D. Prabhakar Rao and Principal Secretary S. Narsing Rao. The government also decided to appoint new directors in the vacant positions in the power utilities.
Mr. Raghuma Reddy, who has been the CMD of SPDCL from July 19, 2014, was initially given a term of two years and it was extended for one more year in 2016 and it’s coming to an end on November 25. The Chief Minister’s decision would give one more year of service to Mr. Reddy at the helm of the distribution company.
Along with Mr. Reddy’s term, the term of office of SPDCL Director (Operations) J. Srinivas Reddy and NPDCL Director (Operations) B. Narsing Rao has also been extended for a year.
Similarly, the term of Transco Director (Transmission) T. Jagath Reddy and Director (Grid Operations) G. Narsing Rao and Genco Director (Hydel) Ch. Venkat Rajam and Director (Thermal) M. Sachidanandam and Director (HR) S. Ashok Kumar has also been extended for one year, till November-end next year.
