The Wildlife Board of Maharashtra Government, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Mumbai on Wednesday, cleared the Chanaka - Korata and Thummidihatti irrigation projects being implemented in Adilabad district.

The meeting came to the conclusion that there was no threat to the wildlife within the boundaries of Maharashtra on account of the execution of the projects. While the barrage of Chanaka - Korata project was earlier cleared by authorities of Tippeswar Wildlife Sanctuary, the Thummidihatti was given the go ahead by Chapral Wildife Sanctuary. The decisions were endorsed at today’s meeting in Mumbai and sent to the National Wildlife Board.

A release here said the meeting was attended by Maharashtra Finance Minister Sudhir Mungintivar and Chief Conservator of Forest of that State Bhagavan. Adilabad Irrigation Chief Engineer Bhagavanth Rao made a presentation at the meeting.
