People of Telangana residing in Australia started the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) unit in Australia to extend their support to the government as well as the TRS and strengthen the party.

“Australia is one of the most popular destinations for migrants and international students from the State of Telangana after the USA. There are more than 20,000 families and around 5,000 international students from Telangana in cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth,” said TRS Australia representative, Vinod Elete, after the National Core Committee meeting held on Sunday in Sydney.

“The primary purpose of the organisation is to promote the ideology, philosophy and vision of a democratic India and also strengthen the hands of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

TRS Australia is also a forum and interface for Telangana NRIs residing in Australia to promote bilateral relations between India and Australia and work to achieve progress and prosperity,” he said in a statement here.
