The ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) will organise a meeting by the end of this month here to mark completion of 100 days of party government in the State. Date of the meeting will be decided in a couple of days.
This was stated by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday. He told reporters that 200 to 250 delegates from every Assembly constituency would participate in the meeting to be held in Lal Bahadur stadium.
Apart from celebrating the party’s success in general elections, the meeting, first one after the party formed government in June, would be utilised to give a direction to the activists to strengthen the party in the coming years and propagate the programmes taken up by the government, sources in the party said.
Asked about TRS’ chances in the coming GHMC elections, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said: We are 100 per cent sure of winning the polls.
Stating that the government is committed to make Hyderabad a slum-free city, the Chief Minister said new technology roads and other development works would be taken up soon.
“Our drive against illegal construction was aimed only at checking irregularities and restoring discipline,” he noted.
Mr. Rao said he would stick to the word of providing power supply without cuts in the coming 36 to 40 months. About 1,000 MW would be available by February next and another 2,000 MW by 2016-end, he said.
