Tollywood workers on strike

November 27, 2014 11:42 pm | Updated 11:42 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Production activities in the Telugu film industry have almost come to a grinding halt, what with a few thousands of workers involved in the 24 different crafts under the banner of the Andhra Pradesh Film Employees Federation striking work from Thursday.

The demands include better pay and working conditions, apart from the Federation insisting that it be given more say in matters concerning hiring of workers rather than producers simply bulldozing their way. There have been no agreements on wages and working conditions for a few years now. Among big films that are likely to see their shooting schedules go awry include ‘Bahubali’ being made by S.S. Rajamouli and ‘Temper’ being put together by Puri Jagan with NTR in the lead.
