The Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) district committee has demanded that the government order a detailed inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the distribution of cheques under the Rythu Bandhu scheme in Pangidi and Erlapudi villages of Raghunadhapalem mandal.

In a statement, TJS district president Seelam Papa Rao alleged that several discrepancies had crept into the new pattadar passbooks issued by the Revenue officials in the two villages.

He deplored that some 1400 farmers mostly comprising tribal ryots belonging to the mandal were yet to get cheques under the investment support scheme till date. The hapless farmers were being deprived of the investment support for no fault of theirs, he said, demanding that a detailed probe be ordered into the corruption charges against the mandal level officials concerned.

He demanded that the process of disbursement of cheques under the Rythu Bandhu should be conducted in a transparent manner to extend the much needed support to actual tillers.
