Tiryani police seize demonetised currency

Tiryani Police in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district on Friday arrested four businessmen from Bellampally area and seized from the demonetised ₹ 500 and ₹1,000 currency notes with a face value of ₹10.80 lakh. According to Tiryani sub inspector of Police B. Srinivas, the accused were trying to sell the money to gullible Adivasis in Tiryani area at an exchange rate of ₹25,000 for demonetised notes with a value of ₹1 lakh. “We set up a decoy operation and nabbed the accused on the outskirts of Morriguda village,” the SI said.
