Telangana Gazetted Officers’ Association founder and TRS MLA from Mahbubnagar V. Srinivas Goud on Sunday said it was high time Seemandhra employees stopped slinging mud on Telangana employees and worked constructively to develop the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing officials at a meeting called by the Telangana Transport Department Technical Officers’ Associations (TTDTOA) on his victory at the hustings recently, he said it was time to put a stop to criticism and firmly launch the process of development. “We have parted as brothers do after a split in the family and division of property. So, we should now concentrate on progress and the happiness that will accrue thereon,” he stated.
For Telangana employees he said now that the dream of a separate State is a reality, single-minded focus should be on building the fledgling State. Acknowledging the role of Transport Department employees during the 42-day-old general strike that paralysed the administration between September 13 and October 24, 2011, he said its uniformed officers had motivated other uniformed gazetted officers in the police, fire, forest and excise departments to join the agitation.
“You could start participating in the developmental process of Telangana. For example, you could start thinking of how you can reduce the number of accidents that are destroying families and you could also come up with plans to increase revenue generation,” Mr. Srinivas Goud told the Transport officials.
TTDTOA president P. Ravinder Kumar presided over the meeting that was attended by representatives of several other gazetted and non-gazetted officers associations in other department apart from other bodies within the Transport Department that represent the interests of different cadres of employees. Honorary president K. Mohan Reddy, Joint Transport Commissioner Panduranga Naik and Deputy Commissioner Krishnaiah were among those who addressed the gathering.
