Three injured in a car accident

April 22, 2015 05:49 pm | Updated 05:50 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Three persons sustained serious injuries on Tuesday night when a car driven by a woman “in an inebriated condition” rammed into a push-cart at Banjara Hills in the city.

Two bike riders, Md Ibrahim and Abdul Salam, both mobile technicians from Bholanagar, and First Lancer, stopped near a push cart to buy ice cream at Banjara Hills Road No. 12. They got off the bike and walked up to the push-cart vendor when the Honda car hit them.

The vendor Lakshimi kanth also sustained injuries. Inquiries by police later revealed that the car was registered in the name of a private pharmaceuticals company. Eye witnesses told the police that there were three women inside the car.

“The car was coming at a high speed and being driven rashly,” they said. Locals dialled an ambulance. The injured were admitted to a private hospital.

“We are yet to ascertain how the accident had occurred. One of the occupants of the car too sustained injuries and was hospitalised,” Anvesh Reddy, sub inspector Banjara Hills said, declining to divulge further details.
