Three employees of blood bank arrested

They were selling adulterated blood

Three functionaries of a blood bank were arrested on Monday by L.B. Nagar Police for allegedly selling adulterated blood.

The cops arrested V. Chakravarthy, Managing Director of Venus Hospital Blood Bank in Malakpet along with two other employees C. Shravan and B. Prem Kumar. The trio allegedly sold adulterated blood to a patient admitted at a private hospital in the city. Doctors reportedly refused to administer the blood as they found it was diluted. Tests confirmed the dilution, following which a police complaint was made. The accused were remanded in judicial custody on Monday.

L.B. Nagar inspector P. Kasi Reddy said samples from the blood bank have been sent for forensic testing . He also said other details including how long such sales were taking place at the blood bank will be known after the investigation is complete.
