Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader S. Jaipal Reddy has termed the proposed third front by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao a mere “stunt” which has no response.

At a public meeting organised by the District Congress Committee here on Thursday as part of the Congress Praja Chaitanya bus yatra, Mr. Jaipal Reddy ridiculed the Chief Minister for making false claims that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benerjee had called him over the third front issue. He reminded people that the Trinamul Congress spokesperson told mediapersons that Ms. Mamata had informed Mr. KCR, when the latter called her, that there would be no third front without Congress party to fight against the BJP government.

Flaying the Chief Minister for making false claims, he wanted to know as to how the TRS president can form the third front when the Congress was ruling in four Southern states and Punjab and added that they would win any time in Haryana. The Congress leader ridiculed the proposal of a third front by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao after he was working closely with the BJP and had a unethical political relationship for four years.

The TRS government had failed to fulfil any of the promises turning the party manifesto into a wastepaper. “People will burn the wastepaper (TRS manifesto) in the coming elections for cheating them with false promises,” he said and alleged that KCR was diverting the public attention.

Alleging that the democracy was not protected in Telangana, he reminded people that five Muslims were shot dead in Warangal three years ago in police custody. The Congress demanded a CBI and judicial inquiry into the incident, but the government ordered an SIT, which is yet to submit its report, he observed.

He also found fault with arrest of MRPS founder president Manda Krishna Madiga and lodging him in jail.
