Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday led a demonstration by MLAs belonging to TDP and Left parties at Gun Park in front of the Assembly highlighting the problems faced by weavers.

A few minutes before the day's session began, the MLAs assembled at the park. Mr. Naidu, CPI (M) floor leader, Julakanti Ranga Reddy and those of CPI tried their hand at the looms reportedly brought by TDP legislator L. Ramana from Karimnagar. Others kept raising slogans against the government for doing nothing when the weavers either died of starvation or committed suicide.

At a brief press conference later, Mr. Naidu said the government had failed to come to the rescue of weavers and that the Opposition struggle would continue till the weavers get justice. Later the MLAs marched to the Assembly premises.
