Our party is ready to submit proofs on irregularities, says TDP-TS working president A. Revanth Reddy

The Telangana unit of TDP has dared the TRS government to an open debate on the alleged large-scale corruption in the irrigation projects.

TDP-TS working president A. Revanth Reddy said his party was prepared to submit proofs regarding the irregularities. The TDP-TS was ready for a debate with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Major Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao or any of the representatives deputed by the Government and it was for the Government to prove its commitment by participating in the open debate.

Mr. Revanth Reddy alleged that the Government had entrusted project works to an MP who defected from the Congress to the TRS recently and the party was prepared to submit proofs relating to the extent of works handed over to the firm owned by the defected MP. The Congress and the TRS were cooperating with one another in committing irregularities in the project works, he said.

This was exposed by the reluctance of the TRS in ordering an inquiry into the large-scale corruption that went into the irrigation projects during former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime. “The TRS which raised a hue over the irregularities is not willing to order an inquiry into the projects two years after coming to power,” he said. The Congress leaders, on their part, did not complain against their MP who switched loyalties to the ruling party.

The TDP-TS was contemplating lodging a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau against the corruption in the irrigation projects with relevant proofs at an appropriate time.
