The Telugu Desam Party Telangana State unit has exhorted the party cadre to effectively take the achievements of the party in the all-round development of Telangana to the people, to win the next elections.

Party president L. Ramana said though some leaders left the party in search of greener pastures, cadre remained in tact and this should be utilised to ensure the party’s victory.

It was natural for the political parties to face ups and downs in politics, but the cadre should not lose courage. They should reach out to the people effectively championing their issues and revive the party’s prospects in the new State.

He was speaking at the inaugural session of the party’s training classes for cadre and leaders at different levels. Party politburo member M. Narsimhulu recalled how the ruling party had been belittling the TDP and said the TRS Government failed to give scheduled castes, women and other sections their due.

This was evident from the absence of people from Mala and Madiga communities as well as women in the State Cabinet.

The Government which could not fulfil its promise of 12% reservation to the scheduled tribes was trying to provoke differences between different tribal sub groups like aborigines and Lambadas to cover up its failures.

Another politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy reminded that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao owed his political life to TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao and he became a Minister for the first time in the government headed by TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu. It was the TDP which initiated several reforms including the introduction of mandal system and projecting Hyderabad as a global destination.
