Tahsildar in bribe row flees; attender held

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Wednesday arrested an attender working at the Tahsildar office of Yalal mandal for allegedly receiving Rs. 15,000 bribe from a person at the behest of the Tahsildar.

While the attender, B. Anjaneyulu, was caught with the tainted sum, the Tahsildar, Chinna Appala Naidu, is absconding,a press release from the ACB said.

Mr. Naidu allegedly demanded bribe from a person to release a tractor, which he had seized for illegally transporting sand. He had instructed the person to pass on the bribe sum to the attender before leaving office. The ACB officials, however, recovered the money from Anjaneyulu.
