The managements of professional college managements in Telangana region have requested the government to start the engineering counselling process soon, so that classes could begin latest by August 15 and students don’t migrate to other States.

The managements that have formed a new association – Telangana Engineering and Professional Colleges Managements Association – here on Monday said that there is a danger of thousands of students migrating to neighbouring States in view of the delay in admission process thus dealing a big blow to the colleges.

Newly-elected chairman N. Gautham Rao said that no college can efficiently function without the government’s support and in this connection he wanted the Telangana government to solve the issues related to admissions quickly.

Vice-chairman R. Pradeep Reddy, general secretary K. Sunil Kumar, treasurer K. Krishna Rao and other office-bearers requested the government to reimburse the pending fee dues of previous years and the present academic year be paid in four equal instalments on July, October, January and April every year. Fee reimbursement has brought education within the reach of the common man and unfortunately even admissions were being delayed due to that issue. The managements were willing to work with the government to provide quality education , they added.
