The US-based consumer financial services firm Synchrony Financial on Friday opened its second office in Hyderabad, a 200,000 sq ft facility across three floors to seat 3,600 people.

“Hyderabad is a key site outside the US and the new office is equipped with latest technology and infrastructure,” said Faisal Uddin, the Senior Vice President and Business Leader of Synchrony Financial India. Like the existing facility, the new one would provide support to American operations across all the verticals. Key business functions to be undertaken include contact centre solutions, fraud investigations and process control monitoring as well as finance, analytics and IT support.

The new facility, at Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City in Hitec City, was inaugurated by US Consul General Katherine Hadda. There are 130 US companies in Hyderabad, she said, adding that they were setting new benchmarks with their commitment to gender equality and to people with disabilities as well as strengthening the economic ties between India and the US.

The new office is equipped with employee amenities including training rooms, a library and coffee and recreation rooms. In line with Synchrony Financial’s focus on people with disabilities, the office has been designed keeping accessibility in mind. Accessible features include a ramp at the entrance and installation of new technology elevators with a naturally lit environment and open desk seating to facilitate mobility and equal work opportunities, a release said.

In an interaction with presspersons, Mr.Faisal Uddin said the company expected the headcount to be 3,600 and plans to recruit 40 people with disabilities.
