Winter jackets are in demand in Hyderabad as the twin cities are reeling under severe cold.

Severe cold wave conditions will continue to prevail at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Medak, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Khammam with minimum temperatures likely to be below normal by three to four degree Celsius at a few places, according to a cold wave warning forecast issued by the India Metereological Department (IMD).

Lowest minimum temperature of four degree Celsius has been recorded at Adilabad. It was followed by Medak at seven degree Celsius, Bhadrachalam & Khammam at nine degree Celsius, Ramagundam at 10 degree Celsius, Nizamabad & Hyderabad at 11 degree Celsius, Hanamkonda at 12 degree Celsius, Hakimpet at 13 degree Celsius, Mahabubnagar 14 degree Celsius and Nalgonda at 15 degree Celsius.

With fog and mist in the morning, the night temperature is likely to plummet further to 10 degree Celsius on Wednesday night in Hyderabad. This sudden drop in minimum temperatures can be attributed to dry and cold winds from North and North-Easterly direction, according to Skymet.
