Suspense over new CS

November 29, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao declined to name the new Chief Secretary saying he was himself not aware, when he was asked about the successor for the incumbent Rajiv Sharma, who will retire on November 30.

Mr. Sharma is due for retirement after two extensions of three months each. A round of applause was given for Mr. Sharma at the Cabinet meeting on Monday, which also decided that a grand farewell be accorded to him at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Mr. Sharma is tipped to be the Chief Advisor for the Chief Minister after he relinquished office.

Mr. Rao admitted that the winter session of Assembly will be held in December, but did not commit himself to specific dates.
