Supercritical boiler installed at Krishnapatnam

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) announced on Wednesday commissioning of the second 800 mw supercritical boiler at Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Plant at Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This is the highest rating (800 mw) indigenous boiler to be commissioned in the country. BHEL had commissioned the first 800 MW boiler at the same project on August 28, 2014, a release from the company said.

Supercritical technology is expected to lower coal consumption and promote eco-friendly and efficient power generation.
