State hikes anganwadi workers’ salaries

The State government on Saturday issued orders enhancing the honorarium to anganwadi workers and helpers with the retrospective effect from March 1. Enhancement in their honorarium was announced by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during the Budget Session of the Assembly.

As per the enhanced honorarium, anganwadi workers would get Rs.7,000 per month, up from Rs. 4,200, and anganwadi helpers and mini anganwadi workers would get Rs. 4,500 per month, up from from Rs. 2,200, Secretary (Women and Child Development) M. Dana Kishore said in the orders.

The Women and Child Development Department also issued certain guidelines on the role and responsibilities of anganwadi workers and helpers in the implementation of ICDS in the State.
