The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) has reportedly directed the management of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) to put on hold the Badli workers recruitment test slated to be held on June 10 and provide jobs to the members of the project displaced tribal families as per the GO MS. No 34 (Tribal empowerment policy 2010-2015) within 30 days.

A direction to this effect was issued by NCST Chairperson Nand Kumar Sai to the senior officials of the SCCL at a high-level meeting attended by the top officials of both the Telangana government and the Central government in New Delhi on Thursday, said Forum for Social Justice national president Koduri Narayana Rao.

In a statement, Mr. Rao said the high-level meeting was convened to discuss the SCCL’s recruitment notification to fill 665 Badli worker jobs in the company’s coal mines in Telangana.

Exam as scheduled

The SCCL has said that the written test for recruitment of Badli workers will be held on June 10 as per schedule. According to a press release, there will not be any change in the timings and examination centres of the written test for filling up the ST backlog posts slated for June 10.
