The State government on Saturday sanctioned special increment to the employees of the State Road Transport Corporation in the State.

However, the orders issued for the purpose mention no date from which RTC employees in Telangana will get the increment. Other employees of the State government have been getting the benefit since August 2014, though it was announced by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on the Appointed Day on June 2, 2014, on which Telangana was formed.

The Chief Minister announced the special increment to RTC employees in Telangana on November 29, 2014. The government decision will benefit as many as 58,770 employees of RTC working under various categories, including head office units, in the State.

According to the orders issued on Saturday, the increment to every employee will be in the form of a special pay equivalent to the immediate previous increment drawn in their current pay scale, which will be a permanently fixed amount during their entire (remaining) period of service.

The special increment will be shown separately on the pay slips of employees and it will be permanently included in the pay in a separate column.

However, it will not be reckoned for the purposes of fixation of pay on promotion or otherwise in future.

Allowances such as DA, HRA, CCA and others will not be admissible on the Telangana increment.
