Not contented with the success of its 2x600 MW thermal power project at Jaipur in Mancherial district, the management of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) is examining the possibilities of expansion of the power project with the addition of an 800 MW super critical unit.

The matter was discussed widely at the 540th board meeting of SCCL held here on Saturday along with improving the company's performance in coal transport and removal of over burden. A few works of coal transport and over burden removal were also cleared by the board meeting.

The meeting led by SCCL Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar felicitated Board Member D.N. Prasad, who is also Advisor (Projects) to Coal Ministry, who is retiring from service later this month.
