SHAR officials selected for ISRO, ASI Awards

M.C. Dathan, Director, Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), SHAR, has been selected for the prestigious ‘Performance Excellence Award', while K. Venkat Rao, former Deputy Director, SPROB and SPP, has been selected for the Merit Award.

The awards will be presented by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Astronautical Society of India (ASI) in recognition to the excellent performance of the scientists.

A 23-member team headed by M.Y.S. Prasad, Associate Director SDSC, SHAR, was selected for ‘Team Excellence Award' for developing innovative systems in launch complex and range operations.

Another 15-member team headed by G. Muniraju, former General Manager, VAST, has been selected for successful completion of scale model studies in investigating the GSLV-MK III lift off acoustics and suppression characteristics using water injection methods.

The third team, comprising 11-members bagged the award for successful static testing of S-200 booster. K.V. Siva Kumar, SCOF, has been selected for ASI Space Gold medal.

A 10-member team headed by G. Muniraju, was selected for ASI's ‘Team Achievement Award' for setting up the ‘Aero Acoustic Test Facility' at SDSC, SHAR. E. Suresh Kumar, R. Hari Kumar and R. Ram Kumar of VAST, M. Karthigai Selvam and G.S.Chandrashekar, LSSF, have been selected for ‘Young Scientists Merit Awards'.
