SCOPE award for ECIL

The Electronics Corporation of India (ECIL) has bagged the SCOPE Award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to the Public Sector Management – Institutional Category III (Other Profit Making PSEs) for the year 2014-15.

President Pranab Mukherjee presented the award to ECIL Chairman and Managing Director Debashis Das at a function in New Delhi on Tuesday, a release from the Corporation said.

The public sector unit under the Department of Atomic Energy was selected for the award by a jury comprising former Chief Justice of India Justice R.C. Lahoti, former Union Secretary Moosa Raza, renowned management consultant M.B.Athreya, former Chairman of SAIL Arvind Pande and former Chairman of PESB C. Phunsog. The award was based on an evaluation done by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd.

A technology driven company since its inception in 1967, ECIL has over the 50 years brought many innovative products like Solid State Television, Digital Computers, and Cockpit Voice Recorders popularly known as Black Box, Electronic Voting Machines, Programmable Logic Controllers, Earth Station and Deep Space Network Antennas.
