The school fee loot issue in Telangana has now taken the digital mode with the parents launching a video song to attract the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s attention, after their earlier attempts through innovative campaigns failed to yield the desired results.

The song in typical Hyderabadi Urdu slang with a catchy tune questions the Chief Minister as to what he was doing when the fee loot goes unabated. The video made and released on YouTube by the Hyderabad Schools Parents Association (HSPA) actually taunts the Chief Minister to answer their questions. The lyrics questions why the CM is unable to stop the loot.

The lyrics go like this : Tumku padhai ki fikarich nai kya (Are you not bothered about education)

School fee loot roktaich nai kya? (Will you not stop the school fee loot)

School wale humku kitta lootrai (Schools are really looting us)

Manmein aaye so paise kootrai (Schools are charging fee as per their wish)

The HSPA members, who have been fighting against the indiscriminate fee in schools also praised the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his efforts to regulate the school fee and questioned Mr. KCR’s silence on it.

Ashish Neredi, managing committee member of the HSPA and who leads the group of parents and students in the song said the video was shot with an I-phone and an assistant director of Telugu films helped them with the editing part. “There will be a few more sequences to the present video. The Telugu version will be the next one,” said Mr. Ashish, who himself penned the lyrics for the song.

The HSPA was apparently inspired by the Marathi song “Sonu tujha majhyavar bharosa nay kay”.

Earlier, the HSPA launched innovative campaigns to highlight the school fee loot in the city including writing postcards to the Chief Minister and pasting stickers on vehicles at major junctions in the city. It also immersed the school fee GO copy along with Ganesh idols to protest against the delay in submission of Prof. T. Tirupati Rao committee report.
