‘Scholarships to be given as per Article 371-D’

March 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The TS government informed the Hyderabad High Court on Monday that the scholarship scheme for eligible local students will be implemented as per Article 371-D. A five-line memo was filed by the government before the division bench of the Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar. The bench was dealing with petitions filed by two former ministers wherein the FAST scheme, meant for fee reimbursement to State students was challenged. They contended that the clause that children of parents, who were bonafide residents of Telangana prior to Nov 1956, alone were eligible for scholarship was unconstitutional.
