‘Santoshi died of ill- health’

Santoshi (18), a student who died under suspicious circumstances, had a natural death due to ill health. This was confirmed by V. Siva Kumar, Commissioner of Police, Siddipet, on Monday.

Speaking to reporters Mr. Siva Kumar said that Santoshi and Ranuka were adopted by G. Ravi Shankar and Padma when both their parents had died about nine years ago.

Since then they were staying with the couple. On the night of May 23 Santoshi died and her sister Renuka filed a complaint with the police on May 25 expressing suspicion over the death.

The police inquiry revealed that Santoshi fell ill on the night of May 23 and died after midnight at the government hospital while undergoing treatment.

The doctors did not find any injury on the body. As many as 16 persons were questioned in the case and the investigation will continue further, said Mr. Siva Kumar.
