‘Salaries to employees on July 25’

Salaries to government employees will be paid on July 25 in view of the Ramzan Eid, said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the ‘Iftar’ hosted by him at Hitex in Madhapur, Mr. Rao said, the State Haj Committee would be reconstituted shortly. He had spoken to the Saudi Airlines for arranging direct flights from Hyderabad to Jeddah for the coming Haj season.

The Chief Minister, who donned white sherwani and rumi topi, spoke in Urdu for a brief ten minutes before the Iftar. He assured to implement all the promises made for minorities. His government would earmark budget of Rs. 1,000 crore for minority welfare and provide 12 per cent reservation to Muslims in jobs.

A committee headed by a judge would be constituted to look into the issue. Stating that his government was committed to the development of minorities, Mr. Rao said Muslims would be given representation at all levels of government.
