In view of Ganesh Chathurthi, temporary supply for Ganesh pandals can be obtained by paying advance amount to CPDCL, a press note informed on Wednesday.

Up to a connected load of 250 watts, the amount is Rs.500, while for over 250 watts and up to 500 watts, the amount payable is Rs.1,000. Above 500 watts, one has to pay Rs.1,500 and Rs.750 for every 500 watts thereof, the note said. However, if the applicants come forward for metered supply, the same will be extended as per rules, it said.

The CPDCL also issued some safety precautions to be followed by the Ganesh pandal organisers.

It forbade them from allowing children close to power lines, throwing objects on the power lines, meddling with the conductors while moving the idol, touching a person who is in contact with live power lines, and using substandard products for connections. In case of electrical emergency, one may call the helpline 155333.
