Runners do their bit to green city

Hyderabad Runners hit the roads to take part in ‘Trash Run’ to contribute their bit for a clean and green city

Sunday being a holiday generally people avoid venturing out in the early morning but 50-odd people made good use of the holiday to promote fitness and save environment.

They hit the roads to participate in a “Trash Run” from KBR Park to BNR Hills, Nandagiri Hills and later they cleaned the stretch from BNR Hills to Durgam Cheruvu.

Organised by Hyderabad Runners, the event saw youngsters and elderly participate in good numbers.

As part of cleanliness drive, participants cleared trash such as plastic bags, garbage and papers strewn around the two kilometre stretch between BNR Hills and Durgam Cheruvu. The trash was later disposed in garbage bins.

“We aim to make Hyderabad a clean, green city. The trash run is part of our initiative,” Ajay Reddy, a member of Hyderabad Runners said.
