RTA Trimulgherry gets a printer

Printing of cards from tomorrow

A day after hardships faced by the applicants at Road Transport Office (RTO) in Trimulgherry due to failure of the card printing machine was reported in these columns, the Transport Department officials swung into action by setting up a a working printer at the office on Saturday.

“As printing of more than 700 documents was pending for the last four days, we have asked the department officials in Warangal to send a spare printer for convenience of applicants at RTO Trimulgherry,” said an official. The printing of cards will resume on Monday, he said.

In view of the fact that more than 15 card printers of 65 across the State are damaged and beyond repair and other 15 are under service, the department has set in motion procurement of 15 more printers.

“The new machines will be delivered by April 10 and each printer costs ₹ 1.10 lakh,” he said.
